HTPC

An HTPC is a Home Theater PC. Loosely defined, it would be an entertainment PC designated for media playback.

Being that an HTPC is primarily a computer, it can have all of the uses of a typical computer. However, HTPCs generally are outfitted with a media interface, or frontend software that provides, at least, the basic functions of an HTPC. These functions can include, but are not limited to:

• Live TV playback, pause and record (DVR) functionality
• DVD playback
• Music playback
• Media management capability
• Media Streaming
